BOZEMAN – Montana State University announced Wednesday that it will cancel the upcoming National Conference on Undergraduate Research that had been planned for March 26-28 on campus.
“This decision comes after thoughtful consideration and monitoring of the coronavirus disease situation,” said MSU President Waded Cruzado. “While there is not yet a confirmed COVID-19 case in the state of Montana, canceling the conference is the right decision for our community.”
The decision to cancel was made in coordination with the Council on Undergraduate Research, the national organization behind the NCUR conference.
“We understand that canceling NCUR 2020 is upsetting for the many undergraduate researchers who planned to present their work, and for the many faculty members and mentors who planned to attend as well,” Cruzado added. “We apologize for any inconvenience this decision may create.”
Those who had registered to attend NCUR 2020 and need additional information are encouraged to visit the CUR national conference website. MSU’s NCUR website is also at montana.edu/ncur2020.
