Fast, loud and delicious: The Garage is a Bozeman hotspot
Vintage cars, all-American cuisine and rock and roll music are the basis of The Garage’s appeal. Since 2001, The Garage has been a well known community hang out spot and restaurant, located on Huffine Lane. This locally owned business captures the rawness of Americana with its cohesive theme, quality food and down to earth customer service. It offers a relaxed environment where you can work on homework, have a drink with your buddies or get dinner with your family. The versatility of the restaurant attracts customers from all walks of life. But for MSU students specifically, this is an optimal hotspot in Bozeman.
There is no need to dress up for a trip to The Garage. After a long day at school or after a workout you can wear whatever you are comfortable in to this restaurant. There is no stigma around what you are expected to wear — the more casual the better. The Garage feels approachable and welcoming while still serving high quality meals.
“We get all of our meat from Daniels Meats and that is because we know Asten Daniels personally. He’s a great guy with a great business we love to support,” Clay Prosise, the co-owner and manager of The Garage, said. For the best locally brewed beer, The Garage has a variety of options and prides itself on keeping its products local. The best beer there that I would recommend is Ranch Hand western cider. It’s bold, refreshing and brewed right in Montana.
The Garage engages with the community in a unique way by hosting one of a kind events. If you're looking for something to do on a Thursday night, The Garage has the perfect thing for you. Every Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., the restaurant staff hosts a trivia night where college students and community members come to enjoy some playful competition and have the chance to win gift cards to The Garage.
“The culture that surrounds The Garage offers things for everybody and we ride that line of a family friendly place but also engaging and appealing to college kids wanting to relax or work on homework” Prosise said.
Cars and Coffee is another amazing event put on every Sunday during the summer. “It's very much in the spirit of if you love it, bring it.”
If it has wheels and a motor, bring it in. The Garage wants to see all of the cars in the community and this car show is an event you don't want to miss out on. There is also an anonymous raffle that anyone can enter. With the help and participation of a brewery that sponsors the event, you could win a small package.
There is an unbeatable feeling of community and productivity when you're there that has melded together to create the perfect spot for a variety of activities. With new events in the works, including involvement with little league teams around Bozeman and more car shows, there is always something to do at The Garage. “We have a lot of thoughts on how we can continue to create a great space for people to come in,” Prosise said.
Keeping a cohesive theme is a standout quality of the Garage showcases. “Sticking to the theme of ‘loud, fast and delicious’ we like fast cars, loud music and delicious food. It's strong like an 80s rock song,” Prosise said. There are a lot of places that will give you great hospitality and great food, but the coordination between the decor, music and events sets this restaurant apart from the rest by offering an immersive experience.
