McDonald's went "SICKO MODE"

McDonald’s has announced a partnership with rapper Travis Scott, creating a limited-time meal called “The Cactus Jack”. The meal features a Sprite ®️, french fries with BBQ dipping sauce, and a Quarter Pounder®️ with bacon for only $6. The name of this limited-time combo bears the same name as the record label which Scott founded.

This is the first celebrity-inspired meal to be featured on a fast-food menu since 1992 when Michael Jordan received his own McDonald’s meal. To promote this partnership, Scott released merchandise to his website including hats, shirts, a lunch box, a unique nugget body pillow with a $90 price tag and a 6-foot tall life-size cardboard cutout of himself. McDonald’s also created a nationwide advertisement that features the new and updated Travis Scott action figure.

McDonald’s Chief Marketing Officer, Morgan Flately, said about the partnership, “From featuring Travis’ favorite McDonald’s meal in our restaurants to his new score for our TV spot, to Cactus Jack x McDonald’s merch, this has been a true partnership from start to finish.”

On Twitter, Travis Scott promoted his meal by retweeting a McDonald’s tweet with a cactus and burger emoji and tweeted in all caps, “CACTUS JACK FOR MCDONALD’S.” Scott also said, “I couldn't be more excited to bring the Cactus Jack x McDonald's collaboration to life. We are bringing together two iconic worlds.”

The Golden Arches on Main St.  in Bozeman have been hit hard with music fans swarming the drive-thru, which has caused the McDonald’s location to run out of both the BBQ dipping sauce and the iconic Quarter Pounder®️. Don’t worry, this promotion continues until Oct. 6. Hopefully, you will be able to get your own Travis Scott meal.

There is more to come from this partnership according to the McDonald’s website, and, if you are so inclined, you can get email notifications at https://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en-us/travis-scott-meal.html. This uncommon partnership has given a bit while the reprieve of the global pandemic rages on. Enjoy the fanfare while it lasts.
