The Americana folk band, CAAMP, put on a show at the Rialto Theater on Main Street last Friday night, Nov. 1. They are currently on tour for their latest album “By and By”, which started on Sept. 21 and runs until Dec. 31, 2019, ending the tour in their hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
The crowd was packed full of fans in their late teens/early twenties, with a couple of cool parents floating in the back and in the overhanging seating area. Nick Snow, a senior at MSU studying mechanical engineering, was in attendance. He claimed, “CAAMP is definitely one of the best folk bands out there. Every show is a great performance and the Bozeman show was no exception.” Another MSU fan, a junior named Sarah Lorch, said, “Currently, three out of five of my favorite songs are by the band CAAMP. That is why I was so excited when I got tickets to see them at the Rialto, a venue I have grown to adore for its intimacy and authentic musical atmosphere. The passion of the musicians and the enjoyment of the audience couldn’t have been more contagious.”
This show was presented by Logjam Presents, an entertainment promotion and production company. Nick Checota, Logjam Presents CEO and Talent Buyer shared with the Exponent, “This was Logjam Presents' first time working with CAAMP and Futurebirds in the Bozeman market and we were very pleased with their performance. It's great to see young touring musicians pouring their hearts out in front of such a receptive audience. The magic is in the live performance and that's something you have to see for yourself, so thank you all for coming out and supporting live music in Bozeman. We hope to see you again soon.”
To date, CAAMP has released two albums. Their first album, self-titled, was released in 2016 by Square Roots Records. In 2018, they released a six-song EP entitled “Boys”. Their second and most recent album, “By and By”, was released in 2019 under Mom + Pop Music. In August 2019, CAAMP made their debut on the Billboard Emerging Artists chart and their album By and By debuted at number 1 on the Heatseekers Albums chart. Furthermore, CAAMP appeared as a headline act at the 2019 Mo Pop Festival in Detroit. They are slated to appear at the 2019 Austin City Limits Music Festival.
