Hello! My name is Grace Larsen, and I will be the Exponent’s Editor-in-chief for the 2020-21 academic year. I began working for the Exponent as a news writer in the fall of 2019. I have always enjoyed keeping up with everything happening on the MSU campus and I happened to already know this year’s culture editor, Dylan Vogel, from class. At Catapalooza, I walked by the Exponent tent and caught up with Dylan about our summers, while also being heckled by this year’s EIC, Caleb Rux, and our lead layout, Audrey Moss, to apply for a position at the paper. I was excited to get an interview a few weeks later and, after nervously babbling through said interview, was hired and beyond thrilled to get writing.

I have had a wonderful year at the Exponent, transitioning from a news writer to the news editor in November. I have worked to grow the news section to write more investigative pieces and produce hard-hitting content. Outside of the Exponent, I am pursuing a degree in English with a writing concentration. This fall I will be entering my senior year in the program.

Next year, I plan on expanding the Exponent's audience and working to ensure that as a newspaper staff we are creating content that makes students, faculty and community members excited to pick up the Exponent each week. I am looking forward to getting back in the office next year after our period of being online only.

Thank you for your continued support of the Exponent.

Best wishes,

Grace Larsen
