To prepare for the 2018 Graduation Ceremonies, the MSU Facilities Services and Campus Planning along with the Design and Construction departments are hosting their 11th annual Campus Cleanup Event. Taking place on Thursday, April 26, participants are invited to join other students and community members at Wally Byam Park at 10 a.m. There, they will make their way toward the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse, cleaning up any and all litter along the way. Participants in the event will be rewarded with pizza and refreshments at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse following the end of the cleanup.

“This event provides an opportunity to demonstrate that together, as a community, we can make a difference,” said E.J. Hook of MSU Facilities Services. “While the overriding purpose of the event is to ensure our campus is at its best for past, future and current students, it touches many other community aspects.” The event also aims to bring awareness to the water quality of Mandeville and Bozeman Creeks, which have both suffered under the weight of a year’s worth of litter since the last cleanup event.

“Through active participation our individual behaviors, whether littering or picking it up, make a real difference in the quality of the environment we all share,” Hook emphasized. “It shows care and pride for our community and MSU.”

If you’d like to participate in this event, please email Hook at CampusCleanup@montana.edu so they can be prepared with enough cleaning materials and pizza for all participants. In the event of rain, the event will be pushed to Thursday, May 3.
