The Bobcat volleyball team defeated Idaho State in two matches played on Saturday, Feb. 20, and Sunday, Feb. 21. This series sweep marks the second sweep of the season and a 4-0 win streak for the Cats.

Both matches went five sets with the Cats ending on the winning side, taking both matches 3-2. In the Saturday match, senior outside hitter Hannah Scott led the team with an impressive 25 kills. Scott also led the Bobcats in kills in the Sunday matchup with 19 in total.

“We know that Hannah and Kira [Thompson] are going to go out there and perform. But I thought Hailey [Merkes] came up with some big swings and her serving was very timely,” MSU head coach Daniel Jones said after the Sunday win.

Next up, the Cats will play Portland State on Saturday, Feb. 27, and Sunday, Feb. 28, in Shroyer gym. Last year the Cats lost their only match of the season against the Vikings, 1-3.
