Montana State’s golf team closed out its spring season this week at the Big Sky Conference Championships in Mollala, Oregon. Bobcat golfers, junior Kameryn Basye, sophomore Annika Danenhauer, senior Kelly Hooper, junior Hannah Rosanova and junior Sofia Rodriguez Todd, represented the Bobcats in their final tournament, competing against schools from Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Utah, Colorado and California.

Cat Golf’s spring season kicked off in early March at the Grand Canyon University Invitational and wrapped up with three consecutive weeks of competition in April that consisted of four separate tournaments. Due to COVID-19, Cat Golf did not participate in any tournaments in the fall of 2020.

As the 2020-21 season ends, Bobcat golfers are turning their focus to various tournaments over the summer, including the Montana State Women’s Amateur Championship, which will be held in Great Falls from Thursday, July 29, through Saturday, July 31. Danenhauer was victorious at last year’s State Championship, and all three Cat Golf members who competed finished in the top five.

Although Cat Golf did not take home any hardware this year, Basye’s outstanding play throughout the season was recognized, as she was selected to the 2021 Big Sky Conference Women’s Golf All-Conference Third Team. Basye has lead Cat Golf in every tournament this season, her first at Montana State.

Cat Golf wrapped up play at the Big Sky Conference Championship on Wednesday, April 21. Going into the final round, the team sits in 11th place with Bayse leading all Bobcats who came into the day at 38th. The tournament was finished with an 18 hold round which resulted in a Bobcat 10th place finish. Cat Golf was led by Bayse who tied for 34th place and Hopper who tied for 36th place.
