15-foot width restriction active in I-90 Belgrade to Bozeman project

A 15-foot width restriction is active while paving and striping operations are underway in the Interstate 90 Belgrade to Bozeman project.

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and partner Riverside Contracting Inc. are improving about 6.3 miles of interstate as part of the project. Work is began recently and is expected to be completed in one season, weather and other unforeseen factors permitting.

During construction, motorists can expect single-lane traffic at times, nighttime milling and paving, and occasional width restrictions.

Drivers who need assistance finding alternate routes due to the width restriction should call Motor Carrier Services at 406-444-6130, according to a May 8 press release from MDT.

"Milling and paving activities are being completed at night to minimize impacts on the traveling public," the release reads. "This work requires single-lane traffic between approximately 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., Sundays through Thursdays. Traffic will return to two lanes during the day."
