Bozeman High School evacuated briefly after bomb threat

Students and staff at Bozeman High School were evacuated from the building after a phone call to the BHS office suggesting a potential bomb threat.

The recorded message was received by the BHS office staff at 12:15 pm. An email sent to parents from Principal Dan Mills suggested the call was "consistent with similar recorded 'swatting calls' received by schools in the past."

According to the email, all established safety protocols were followed, and all students and staff were evacuated to the football stadium "out of an abundance of caution".

The BHS office immediately contacted the Gallatin County Dispatch about the message. BHS resource officers and Bozeman Police Department patrol officers arrived promptly, conducting a thorough sweep and assessment of the campus, according to a Facebook post made by BPD.

After officers determined the building to be safe, students and staff returned to campus for the afternoon.

According to the Bozeman Police Facebook post, the threat appears to be a hoax, and "there is no sign of any danger or threat to the community."
