Cats golf in conference championships

The MSU Women’s Golf Team travelled to Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev. to compete in the Big Sky Women’s Golf Championships last weekend. The competition spanned from April 20-22, consisting of 12 teams from the conference. Each team played three rounds, with four players to a team.

The Bobcats finished eighth overall in the tournament, with a total of 920 strokes resulting in shooting a combined 56-over par during the contest. Idaho took home the title, shooting an impressive two-over par during the three-day span.

Junior Clare Dittemore led the charge for the Cats, finishing tied for 26th overall with a score of 11 over-par. Sophomore Delaney Elliott was not far behind, shooting 15-over par and ending 31st overall. Idaho’s Junior Sophie Hausmann won the tournament after posting a cool ten-under par for the competition. The conference tournament concluded MSU’s 2017-2018 golf season.

“I am proud of these ladies for battling it out all season. We were not able to get outside one time to play on a golf course, so considering that the team did fairly decent,” Bobcats head golf coach Brittany Basye commented on the season. “We could always do better and will continue to work on our game.” She also added that the offseason will be nice to work on some specifics, and that she is looking forward to next season.
