Chick-fil-A to serve up Butte’s grand opening June 11

Butte-Silver Bow residents who want to “Eat Mor Chikin” will have their opportunity starting Thursday, June 11.

That’s when Chick-fil-A officially unveils its Butte location, according to the restaurant chain’s website and Butte Facebook page.

The new eatery, which sets up shop at 102 Cornerstone Place, will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Chick-fil-A, which S. Truett Cathy founded in 1946, is closed Sundays “to allow employees to rest and spend time with family or worship,” per its website.

Guests who arrive June 11 dressed in cow print — like the company’s famous advertisements featuring whimsical Holstein cows encouraging humans to choose chicken over beef — will get a free entrée or kid’s meal.

Montana resident Calder Prevatt will serve as owner-operator of the Butte venue. He initially visited a Chick-fil-A restaurant as a child while visiting his grandmother and developed an affinity for it while living in Belgrade.

“I saw the opportunity to introduce this brand to more communities in Montana,” Prevatt stated, “and I’m honored to bring Chick-fil-A to Butte to create a place where guests and team members feel welcomed and supported.”

According to the company’s recent Facebook posts, June 11 will be chockablock with “great food, fun surprises and plenty of reasons to celebrate” at the Cornerstone site.

What’s more, the first 100 guests on hand will get exclusive Chick-fil-A merchandise.

"Butte is a welcoming, close-knit community, and we saw an opportunity to become part of a place that values connection and care," Chick-fil-A Inc. stated in an email message. "When we open a new restaurant, our goal is to be a great neighbor and serve customers as quickly as possible."

To that end, the business is expected to create upward of 100 jobs around the Butte-Silver Bow community. Prevatt will mark the occasion with a Chick-fil-A Inc. donation of $25,000 to Feeding America and Montana Food Bank’s hunger-relief campaign.

In addition to the Butte opening, the chain will have new locally owned and operated restaurants in Helena, Great Falls and Bozeman, accounting for more than 400 jobs throughout the state, according to the company.

It has has awarded $260,000 in grants to Montana nonprofits and more than $52,000 in scholarships to its employees across the state.

Chick-fil-A’s eclectic menu is best known for its chicken sandwiches, nuggets, waffle potato fries and lemonade.
