Denver-based Gravity Haus to purchase, re-open Missoula's shuttered LOGE hotel

It looks like a Denver-based hotel group called Gravity Haus has purchased the former LOGE Hotel property on West Broadway near downtown Missoula.

The LOGE Missoula location and its associated Dog Wash Cafe closed abruptly in February amid financial problems at its parent company. Before it was called LOGE, the 58-room motel at the site, 420 W. Broadway, was called the Mountain Valley Inn.

It's in a desirable spot on a high-traffic corridor, and features quite a bit of parking since there's parking on the ground floor underneath the rooms.

Gravity Haus bills itself as a hospitality company that caters to people looking for outdoor adventure, "curated" food and beverage, co-working infrastructure and physical fitness amenities.

Apparently LOGE's lender, a company called The Academy Fund, chose Gravity Haus as the partner to revive three LOGE properties, two in Washington. The company operates an upscale hotel in Big Sky, Montana, as well.

"The Gravity Haus management team and entire organization are optimized to deliver net operating income for owners," said Bill Militello, CEO of The Academy Fund, in a statement. "This is a refreshing perspective in an industry that historically hasn't aligned win-win-win dynamics for the owner, the brand, and the consumer. We can all win: the customer, the community, Gravity Haus, and the owner."

It's not clear what the timeline will be on getting the new hotel up and running.

"Surrounded by world-class fly fishing, mountain biking, hiking, and a thriving food and arts scene, Missoula represents one of the most promising under-the-radar adventure markets in the American West, exactly the kind of destination Gravity Haus was built for," Gravity Haus said in a press release. "The property will reopen under Gravity Haus management, with a refreshed identity rooted in the local culture and adventure landscape that defines the city."

Gravity Haus now operates 13 properties across the West.
