Florence duo sentenced for trafficking meth to Missoula from Spokane

A man and woman from Florence were sentenced to prison Wednesday for trafficking meth in Missoula, according to a U.S. Attorney's Office press release.

Megal Daricek, 30, and Summer Walraven, 28, both pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine in January 2026, according to the release. Daricek also pleaded guilty to possessing a gun while committing this crime.

Both appeared before Judge Dana Christensen on Wednesday for sentencing.

Walraven was sentenced to four years in prison followed by five years of supervised release, and Daricek was sentenced to 11 years and eight months of prison followed by five years of supervised release.

Both Walraven and Daricek went to Spokane, Washington, to pick up meth to distribute in Missoula, the press release said.

Members of the Montana Regional Violent Crime Task Force searched Walraven's hotel room on North Reserve Street on April 4, 2025, after receiving a tip that she and Daricek were trafficking meth. Officers found over a pound of meth as well as paraphernalia for drug distribution.

On May 2, 2025, Daricek was pulled over as part of that same investigation and admitted he had picked up "pound quantities" of meth in Spokane and obtained a firearm during one of these transactions.
