Livingston to get a Love's Travel Stop

LIVINGSTON — A Love’s Travel Stop is planned for Livingston, according to city officials.

“A Love's truck stop is coming to town, and they will be doing the convenience store with whatever restaurant they pair with on this project,” Livingston building director Brad Haefs said during the last meeting of the Livingston City Commission. “They'll also have a tire repair facility there and build some fuel canopies. I think they've got like 95 parking spots for semis and of course [for] the driving public.”

The exact location of the planned truck stop wasn’t disclosed, as the city hasn’t approved the site plan, the land in question hasn’t changed hands, and the city wants to respect the pending private transaction.

City Manager Grant Gager said the Love’s truck stop is planned in an area covered by the city’s western gateway overlay zone. There are special architectural standards in this zone. The project will include a fast food restaurant, but one hasn't been chosen yet, according to Gager.

The project is in the city site plan review process, and the Montana Department of Environmental Quality is reviewing plans for water/wastewater service, Gager indicated.
