One dead in officer-involved shooting in Flathead County

One person is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Flathead County, according to a Flathead County Sheriff's Office press release.

According to the release, which was put out Friday around 11 p.m., deputies responded Friday to a report of an assault with a weapon in the Emery Bay area of the Hungry Horse Reservoir.

During that incident, an officer-involved shooting occurred, killing the suspect. No deputies were injured.

The Kalispell Police Department will be conducting an investigation into the incident, as is standard protocol.
