Dear Editor of the Exponent,

I'm Norris Blossom, and I currently serve as Student Body President of MSU. Campus parking is one of the greatest challenges that students and the university face. Students, staff and faculty alike must find a way to get to and from campus every day, and facilitating that volume of parking is highly challenging. I've been constantly impressed at the Streamline Bus system to provide reliable transportation to students and members of the Bozeman community. I see tremendous potential for the Streamline Bus system to alleviate some of the acute pain that the MSU community feels around campus parking. Utilizing the Streamline as commuter transportation can consistently transport folks to and from campus while reducing the total greenhouse emissions and traffic congestion that would result from students and staff driving themselves independently. Further, it may prevent the need for additional parking lots – which is valuable space that could be used for recreation and other supplemental facilities.

The Streamline Bus system is an incredible resource for students, staff and faculty here at Montana State University. I highly support its use as commuter transportation, and I'm eager to see how this service can transform how we think about campus transportation at MSU.

Sincerely,

Norris Blossom,

ASMSU President
