‘Today’: Halle Berry Mistakes Jenna Bush Hager Question for NSFW Comment
Lots of laughs were had on the Thursday, May 28, episode of Today With Jenna and Friends, thanks to Halle Berry.
The actress joined Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones at the show desk for a game of “Pink Chair Questionnaire.” Bush Hager kicked off the segment by asking Berry if she has a nickname people don’t know about. “Yes, and they don’t know it for a reason! I’m not gonna tell you,” she responded.
Jones went on to ask, “What’s your TV guilty pleasure?” Berry admitted that she doesn’t watch much TV, but has been encouraged by friends to watch Heated Rivalry. “[They’re like,] ‘If you’re gonna watch one, Halle, watch this one,’” she stated.
Bush Hager later wrapped up the segment by asking Berry to share her “biggest ick,” as in something that disgusts her. Berry, however, burst into laughter after thinking Bush Hager said “biggest d**k.” Bush Hager’s jaw dropped upon realizing what Berry misheard, while Jones jokingly slapped the Oscar winner with her cue cards.
“I was like, ‘What?’ It sounded like that, didn’t it?” Berry quipped, to which Jones promptly replied, “No! You are naughty!” Berry proceeded to answer what she thought was the question by naming her boyfriend, Van Hunt.
Bush Hager, Jones, and the Jenna & Sheinelle crew couldn’t contain their laughter. “It’s like the word ‘biggest’ with the word ‘ick.’ She’s right,” Bush Hager said in Berry’s defense. “We should have a five-second delay, between the Heated Rivalry and biggest ick.”

The broadcast censored the end of Bush Hager’s statement, as Berry once again thought she said “d**k.” Bush Hager insisted she did not, exclaiming, “Ick! I said Ick! Yes, I did!” The on-set laughter continued as Bush Hager sent the show to a commercial break.
Following the funny on-air moment, Berry sat down with Bush Hager and Jones and discussed feeling empowered heading into her 60th birthday. “I’m all about women’s health and female empowerment right now, and aging gracefully, not turning ourselves into a monster, but staying who we are and knowing it’s a privilege to age. And how can we do that gracefully with strength and keep our integrity intact, as to who we are,” she stated. “And realizing that we’re more than this shell, but the real good good is what’s come from our life experience.”

Berry also got candid while speaking about sexual health and menopause. “I was there, and I thought, ‘I’m just like every woman. No different.’ So, if that’s what I was feeling, I knew that every other woman was feeling the same thing,” she said. “They just were afraid to say it out loud.”
She continued, “We’ve been afraid to say to our male partners, ‘That wasn’t so fun for me. It was great for you, but I had to get through it because our path to orgasm is a lot different.’ And if our partner doesn’t know that and understand that and take the time that we need, it just won’t get there. We’re biologically different, but we were afraid to say that. So, the best relationships are relationships where people talk about it.”
