1 person injured, 2 pets killed in Bozeman house fire

BOZEMAN, Mont. - One person was injured and transported to the hospital after a house fire on South Tracy Avenue that also left two pets dead, according to Bozeman Fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene at around 1:25 p.m. on Tuesday.

"Crews quickly accessed the second floor of the building and gained control of the fire in just a few minutes," the fire department said. 

Two pets were found inside the building during a search, and neither survived their injuries despite "extensive resuscitation efforts," according to Bozeman Fire. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation. 

“Thank you to the Bozeman Police Department, Central Valley Fire, Hyalite Fire, and Fort Ellis Fire for their assistance with this incident,” Bozeman Fire Chief Josh Waldo said. “We also want to express our appreciation to off-duty Bozeman firefighters for coming into work to maintain city coverage.”
