ASMSU releases election results

Results for the 2026 Associated Students of MSU General Election were released last night after polls closed at 5 p.m.

Out of 15,193 eligible voters, 963 submitted ballots for the Presidential and Vice Presidential race, equating to a 6.34 percent voter turnout.

Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates Benjamin Wilson and Josey Blazer won the executive race, capturing 54.72 percent of the total vote. Izzy Watson and Molly Forney followed with 43.56 percent.

For the senatorial elections, only students enrolled in each college could vote on their respective college’s seats. At-large senators can be voted on by all students.

Kate Johnson and Jessica Henderson were elected to be the two senators for the College of Agriculture, which had 160 total voters participate. Johnson and Henderson both got 71 votes, each capturing 25.08 percent of the votes for that college’s race.

The College of Arts and Architecture had 60 total voters, selecting one senator. Jaylyn Thaut won with 98.24 percent of the votes.

For the College of Engineering, four students won: Hannah Ferguson with 25.29 percent, Kershaw Mellott with 24.7 percent, Dakota Wedding with 23.8 percent and Lennox Niece with 22 percent of the votes. A total of 221 voters submitted for the College of Engineering.

Luis Razo, Grace Koeller, Jonah Metz and Brendan Boreth won the four seats for the College of Letters & Sciences, which had 264 voters participate. Razo captured 26.32 percent of the ballots submitted, Koeller got 23.87 percent, Metz 23.74 percent and Boreth 21.68 percent.

For the at-large seats, 963 voters submitted applications. The nine winners were Sadie Jenkins with 12.2 percent of the vote, Owen Adams with 11.38 percent, Blake Lindemann with 11.19 percent, Jack Schumaker with 11.06 percent, Tucker Hall with 10.72 percent, Paige Frumkes with 10.67 percent, Harrison Brandt with 10.56 percent, Alexander Bernier with 10.45 percent and Rain Labon with 9.56 percent.
