Belgrade Main Street resurfacing to bring lane closures
BELGRADE, Mont. — A Montana Department of Transportation announcement said Main Street in Belgrade will be resurfaced in the coming weeks.
MDT said CK May Excavating will work on the project from east of Grogan Street to Gallatin Field Road. The work is meant to extend the life of the roadway.
The project will include removing the top layer of pavement, adding a new surface, applying a chip seal and updating pavement markings. MDT said the work is expected to take five days, depending on weather and other unforeseen factors.
During the project, Main Street will have no parking and drivers should expect single-lane traffic through the work zone. Sidewalks will stay open for access to businesses.
MDT said the Broadway intersection will not be paved during this project to help keep traffic moving.
MDT also said its maintenance crews will begin patching large sections of Main Street on May 19 from the Family Dollar to Andy’s Glass.
For current road conditions, MDT directed the public to MDT 511 Travel Info. People with questions or comments can contact MDT at 406-556-4700 or mdtprojectpi@mt.gov.
