Belgrade School District conducts review after malware incident

BELGRADE, Mont. — Belgrade School District officials reported experiencing technology problems recently due to malware and that an investigation into possible data exposure remained underway.

The malware has reportedly been removed, however, district officials stated that work to restore and secure their systems would continue into June.

Cybersecurity experts are helping determine whether any personal information was involved in the incident.

If the review finds that student or staff data was affected, the district stated that officials would directly notify those impacted.
