Big Sky-area crash on MT-64 leaves New Mexico motorcyclist dead

The motorcyclist who died in a crash near the intersection of Lone Mountain Trail and Lone Mountain Ranch Road in Big Sky on Saturday was identified as 37-year-old Mary Medford, according to the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office (GCSO).
"Sheriff Springer wishes to express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mary Medford during this time," GCSO said.
BIG SKY, Mont. — A June 6 crash on MT-64 near Big Sky left a 37-year-old man from Las Cruces, New Mexico dead, according to the Montana Highway Patrol (MHP).
Troopers said the man was riding a motorcycle, lost control trying to negotiate a turn and went off the road.
He was not wearing a helmet and hit his head on the pavement, MHP said.
The motorcycle and the rider came to rest on the right side of the road.
It’s unknown whether drugs, alcohol or speed were factors in the crash, MHP added.
