Bozeman Childcare Event Invites Community To Provide Input On Future Of Childcare
Bozeman, Mont. — A community event at the HRDC Marketplace gave people in Bozeman a chance to weigh in on the future of childcare in Montana.
The HRDC Marketplace hosted the event, which started at 5:30 p.m. on June 3 and ran until 8:30 p.m.
Greater Gallatin United Way hosted the conversation in partnership with Zero to Five Montana, a statewide early childhood organization focused on expanding access to early childhood education.
The discussion centered on what community members saw as the biggest childcare needs right now. It also included information about how the Montana Legislature worked and how decisions there affected children and families.
The event came as childcare access remains limited across Montana.
According to Montana DPHHS, less than 33% of the demand is currently being met for childcare for children ages 2 and younger.
