Bozeman Monologues

Following last year’s success, the annual Bozeman Monologues returned this year to provide laughs as well as community support. Hosted at the Emerson Center for Arts and Culture on Wednesday, April 17, this community event brought together people from all stripes and allowed them the space to share their struggles as well as their joys. The Bozeman Monologues was put together by the Students Against Sexual Assault (SASA) and its community partners which include the MSU Voice Center, Spire Climbing Gym, Nova Cafe, Erotique and Cafe M.

The event consisted of a collection of shared stories as students, faculty and Bozemanites took the stage to express their experiences in the realm of sexuality and relationships, all to promote health through dialogue. Tickets were $5 and all funds went to the SASA Survivor Fund.

The fund is a financial support system for the Bozeman and MSU community which provides resources such as monetary support to physically escape an abusive relationship, or restoring evidence used in forensic rape exams such as clothing. Survivors include those of relationship violence, sexual assault or stalking. The fund also goes out to those taking part in the Child Advocacy Center, the Sexual Assault Counseling Center, the Abuse Support Prevention Education Network and the Haven Domestic Violence Center.
