Browning man sentenced to 2 years prison for fatal shooting

A Browning man who shot a woman on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation was sentenced Friday to two years in prison followed by two years of supervised release, according to a U.S. Department of Justice release.

According to the release, on the night of Dec. 28, 2024, Treyson Lee Sharp invited the woman to his home for dinner. According to the release, after dinner, Sharp showed the woman his Christmas presents in his bedroom, including a pair of .357 revolvers. While playing with the guns, Sharp pointed a revolver at the woman and fired it, hitting her in the neck.

Sharp called for help right away, and family members called 911 and administered first aid. The woman died at the scene, the release said.

Officers found a bullet hole in Sharp's bedroom wall, with a brass casing lodged within. The casing was matched to one of the .357 revolvers.

Sharp, 22, pleaded guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter in October 2025.
