Butte Chamber sourcing donations for Bert Mooney TSA employees working without pay

Currently, there are 13 local Transportation Security Administration employees at the Bert Mooney Airport working without pay due partial federal government shutdown involving the Department of Homeland Security

The Butte-Silver Bow Chamber of Commerce is asking Butte residents for help to support the employees and their families.

The Chamber is currently collecting donations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, at 1000 George St. Much needed items are gift cards of $20 and under used for gas or grocery items.

TSA employees are not allowed to accept Visa/Mastercard/American Express cash-equivalent cards or cash.

Stephanie Sorini, Chamber director, said every small gesture makes a big impact, whether it be for fuel for their commute, groceries for their families, or peace of mind during a stressful time.

“Let’s rally together and show these 13 individuals that Butte appreciate and supports them,” said Sorini.
