Butte crews contain building fire around Main Street and East Silver Street

BUTTE, Mont. — Fire crews responded to a structure fire in the area of Main Street and East Silver Street after it was reported around 9 p.m. on Thursday night.

The Butte-Silver Bow Fire Department stated that crews ran into heavy smoke and no visibility inside the building upon arrival.

After firefighters minimized the fire, crews found no one inside the building and no injuries were reported.

Authorities reported that the building had extensive fire, smoke and water damage. The cause currently remains under investigation.
