Chick-fil-A to open Thursday in Butte

BUTTE, Mont. -- A national favorite fast-food chain is ready to serve the Mining City.

Montana's newest Chick-fil-A is set to open in Butte on Thursday, June 11. The new location joins existing Chick-fil-A restaurants in Billings, Missoula, and Kalispell. Three more locations in Bozeman, Great Falls, and Helena are anticipated to open by 2027.

Butte's Chick-fil-A is expected to provide a significant economic boost for the community, creating 110 new jobs.

The restaurant, which is located at Cornerstone Plaza off Harrison Avenue, joins other chains such as Jersey Mike's and Chipotle, in a recent effort to provide more previously absent national brands to Butte.

Owner/operator Calder Prevatt, a longtime resident of Belgrade, talked about why Butte was such an ideal spot for a new franchise.

"That's why we're in business, and that's why we're really drawn to Butte," Prevatt said. "It's very blue-collar, and we're just excited. It's a great opportunity to provide some great food in a clean and safe environment."

"[It's great to] be able to partner with people, whether that's schools, hospitals, or other businesses, and be able to do things for high school sports or Montana Tech," Prevatt continued. "We're just super excited to get involved in the community and served chicken."

Prevatt also noted the saturation of Chick-fil-A restaurants in the Southeast compared to a more sparse distribution in the West, citing Butte's location among the mountains as a more unique location in Chick-fil-A's portfolio.

On Wednesday, Chick-fil-A Butte celebrated its opening with a ribbon-cutting, as well as a check presentation of $25,000 for the Montana Food Bank Network.

The new location will operate daily from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. (except for being closed on Sundays), with the drive thru closing at 10 p.m. Anyone who shows up on Thursday's opening day while wearing cow-print clothing will receive a free entree.
