Circle K takes a step toward a cleaner university

On Thursday, Sept. 24, MSU Facilities Services provided trash bags and gloves to an on-campus volunteer organization, Circle K, looking to beautify campus. Student volunteers gathered in front of Montana Hall, took trash-collecting materials and spread out in groups all over campus to collect litter.

Circle K is an international service organization that promotes service, leadership and fellowship. Co-president Abby Ayers, a senior studying microbiology, explained that due to social distancing guidelines, the club hasn’t been able to host a lot of events this semester as their events are typically in larger groups. They wanted to create an outdoor service activity while the weather was still nice and turned to MSU’s fraternities and sororities for volunteers.

Seamus Hoolahan, a sophomore studying chemical and biological engineering, the Vice President of Finance for MSU’s chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon and a volunteer at the Circle K event said that he and his fraternity brothers “try to do our part to make campus better, any way that we can. We are always happy to help around campus.”
