C.M. Russell Museum raises over $5.7 million at Great Falls art sale

GREAT FALLS, Mont. — The C.M. Russell Museum announced results from its annual exhibition and sale following a sold-out weekend event.

The museum reported more than $5.7 million in total sales from The Russell: An Exhibition and Sale to Benefit the C.M. Russell Museum.

The annual event brought together collectors, artists and visitors from across the country to celebrate the legacy of Charles M. Russell.

Museum officials shared the results via email, highlighting several notable sales from the weekend.

A Russell oil painting sold for $1.5 million, marking one of the event's biggest transactions.

The Art in Action portion of the sale generated $192,416. Artists donate 100% of proceeds from this segment to the museum.

The sold-out weekend showcased the continued interest in Russell's work and Western art among collectors nationwide.
