GREAT FALLS, Mont. — The Great Falls Police Department is asking drivers to stay out of a construction area near 9th Street Northeast and 36th Avenue Northeast.

The alert comes after videos and photos show drivers moving cones, going through the restricted area and driving over temporary water lines

Nearby homeowners also reported property damage from drivers using lawns to get around the construction, police said.

Public Works will be replacing damaged water supply lines at that intersection over the next few weeks.

Police said violators risk citations for traffic violations. Drivers could also be liable for damage to city property and private property.
