BIG SKY, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation announced road work in the Big Sky area starting June 1 that will bring lane restrictions and delays on Montana Highway 64 and U.S. Highway 191.

On MT 64, crews will chip seal and restripe the highway between Plank Road and the intersection with US 191. Drivers can expect one-way traffic and significant delays during daylight hours.

That work is expected to wrap up by June 5, weather and other factors permitting.

On US 191, scrub sealing and restriping will occur between the River House Bar and Grill and the Red Cliff Campground.

MDT said drivers can expect single-lane traffic and extra travel time.

Pilot cars will guide traffic through that stretch during daylight hours. MDT said that work is also expected to be finished by June 5, weather and other factors permitting.

The department urged drivers to plan for extra travel time and use caution in both work zones.
