Fake parking tickets were found on vehicles in Great Falls

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Great Falls Police Department (GFPD) volunteers recently found fake parking ticket stickers placed on vehicles parked on public property.

The police department warned community members will be issued a citation for mischief if caught.

The fake stickers were measured at approximately 5.5 in. in width by 4.25 in. in height.

“EDIT to add...this post pertains to vehicles parked on public property. Vehicles parked on private property are subject to the property owner's discretion and could receive stickers like these,” the GFPD Facebook page specified the use of fake stickers.

Their added response came after community members asked for specifics on discretion of stickers for private property.

The stickers can be bought on websites for private property owner use.

Authentic GFPD parking notices are either 8.5 in. by 11 in. and green, or 4.25 in. in width by 5.5 in. in height.
