Firefighters respond to rekindled blaze near Big Creek Road
PARADISE VALLEY, Mont. – On March 12, 2026, the Paradise Valley Fire Department sprang into action to tackle a fire near Big Creek Road, just north of Highway 89.
A Facebook post from the department shared that high winds had reignited a slash pile, sparking a blaze that spread through nearby vegetation and pasture grass. Firefighters, including Command 870 and several units, were on the scene by 2:18 p.m.
They worked swiftly to contain the flames and prevent further spread in the blustery conditions.
Park County was dealing with several wind-related incidents that day, including fires, downed power lines and overturned vehicles.
