Flathead County rafters warned after two boat flips near CFAC

FLATHEAD COUNTY — Two raft crews flipped this month in the same stretch of river in Flathead County, raising a new safety warning for people heading out on the water.

A Facebook post from North Valley Search and Rescue said both incidents happened just downriver from CFAC on river right. The post said a large rock there has collected logs this season and that a hole sits just upstream at current water levels.

North Valley Search and Rescue reported that everyone involved made it out safely. The group said all of the rafters in both incidents had personal flotation devices.

"Please be safe out there and prepared for the unexpected!" North Valley Search and Rescue said.
