Flathead County Sheriff's Office involved in fatal shooting at Emery Bay Campground, investigation underway

KALISPELL, Mont. - Deputies with the Flathead County Sheriff's Office were involved in the fatal shooting of a 57-year-old man at  Emery Bay Campground on May 29, according to a press release from the Kalispell Police Department (KPD). KPD is investigating the incident.

The man who died was identified as 57-year-old Kenneth Ardagna of Kalispell.

The circumstances of the police response prior to the fatal shooting were not made immediately clear. KPD said deputies initially responded to reports of an assault with a weapon.

"The Kalispell Police Department is in the preliminary stages of this investigation," KPD wrote. "Additional information will be released as it becomes available and when appropriate to do so."
