Gov. Gianforte appoints Rebecca Swandal to court serving Park County
HELENA, Mont. — Gov. Greg Gianforte announced Rebecca Swandal’s appointment to the Sixth Judicial District Court, which serves Park and Sweet Grass counties.
Swandal will take the seat opened by Judge Brenda Gilbert’s retirement. The vacancy begins June 1.
Gianforte pointed to Swandal’s work in both civil and criminal law and her more than decade of service in Park and Sweet Grass counties.
“Rebecca is an accomplished attorney who brings both civil and criminal experience, serving Montanans in Park and Sweet Grass counties for over a decade,” Gianforte said. “I look forward to her service on the Sixth Judicial District Court.”
According to the governor’s office, Swandal graduated from the University of Montana in 2005 and from the University of Montana School of Law in 2009. She has worked for 13 years at the law office her grandmother started in 1967.
