Great Falls police notify public about training at Morningside Elementary

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The Great Falls Police Department (GFPD) announced on Thursday that scheduled multi-agency training will take place from noon until 8:30 p.m. at Morningside Elementary School, urging residents not to be alarmed by loud noises or the frequent presence of emergency vehicles in the area.

The training is being conducted with the Cascade County Sheriff and Coroner’s Office, Great Falls Fire Rescue, Great Falls Emergency Services and the Black Eagle Volunteer Fire Department.

GFPD officials noted that training exercises will be taking place both inside and outside of the school buildings, warning community members to expect emergency vehicles to frequently respond to the school’s campus. Additionally, residents in the area were warned to expect loud noises, including simulated gunfire, yelling and screaming.

“Thank you to the volunteers donating their time and talents to play victims and witnesses, including a few teachers,” GFPD officials stated. “Their efforts help to make the training scenarios as real as possible.”
