Hawk returns to the wild with help from CSKT game warden
POLSON, Mont. — A red-tailed hawk is back in the wild after CSKT Tribal Game Warden Jesse Drennan helped Montana Wild Wings Recovery Center release the rehabilitated bird, according to CSKT NRD Fish, Wildlife, Recreation & Conservation.
According to a Facebook post, the agency said the hawk had been in rough shape before the Wild Wings team treated it and helped it recover. It said the bird was then released back into the wild.
CSKT NRD Fish, Wildlife, Recreation & Conservation also pointed to the recovery center’s work with injured and orphaned birds of prey. The agency said many animals arrive in critical condition and some recover enough to go back to the wild.
