Helena area forest seeks public input on recreation fee changes
HELENA, Mont. — The Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest is seeking public comment on proposed recreation fee changes at several sites in the Helena area.
The Forest Service said money from the proposed changes would help improve infrastructure, maintenance and staffing at recreation sites. Some proposed campground fees would increase by more than $25, while other price changes were smaller.
The public can submit comments on the proposal until September 7 through the Forest Service.
After that period ends, a citizens' advisory committee will review the proposed changes before a final decision is made.
