Helena man charged with 7 felonies, some involving juveniles

A Helena man was charged April 19 with seven felonies after deputies responded to a Child Protective Services report of two juveniles who made "concerning statements."

Darren James Alexander, 27, was charged with two counts of felony sexual assault, one count of felony criminal endangerment, three felony counts of sexual intercourse without consent, one felony count of criminal possession of dangerous drugs and misdemeanor criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies responded to a CPS cross report on March 12, when "Victim 1" said they were sexually assaulted by Alexander and "Victim 2" made "concerning statements," authorities said.

Forensic interviews were conducted on both of the juvenile victims in Great Falls at the Child Advocacy Center, court documents state.

More statements were made by "Victim 2," which prompted a second forensic interview, according to documents.

"Victim 1" said she was sleeping in Alexander's bed when he started "rubbing" the juvenile's waist and legs and made the victim uncomfortable.

The first victim told deputies in court reports that once Alexander realized the juvenile was not his girlfriend he stopped.

Alexander put his hand under the first victim's shirt and on their chest while they were asleep in his bed. "Victim 1" woke the sleeping defendant up to tell him what he was doing and Alexander stopped, documents state.

"Victim 2" said an incident occurred when she was with Alexander on a four-day weekend when Alexander put his hand down the juvenile's pants and rubbed her genitals in circles, the court complaint states.

The second victim told deputies that incidents happened every night of the four-day weekend except the final night.

The second victim said in the last year another incident happened when Alexander put his hand under her shirt and rubbed her nipple, according to court documents.
