HELENA , Mont. — The Lewis and Clark Public Health agency is recruiting neighborhood champions across Lewis and Clark County for a block party campaign tied to social connection and neighborhood preparedness.

According to the agency, neighborhoods can receive a $500 stipend for a neighborhood party. Applications are due on Sunday, May 24.

Organizers stated they are planning to prioritize neighborhoods hosting a first block party and those with an accessible and inviting plan that included neighbors who are aging and have disabilities.

Permit rules and event guidelines will differ on whether residents live in the City of Helena, the City of East Helena or Lewis and Clark County. Residents can find more information on the organizations website.

Organizers also hope the effort will encourage intergenerational friendships in Lewis and Clark County.
