Missoula officers take the plunge raising $1,500 for the Special Olympics

MISSOULA, Mont. – Officers from the Missoula Police Department braved icy waters last Saturday for a good cause. Officer LaRocque and Officer Castro joined the Polar Plunge to support Special Olympics Montana, pulling in nearly $1,500.

The funds raised by the MPD Plunge Team are crucial in helping Special Olympics athletes continue their training and competition year-round.

According to the department's Facebook page, the event raised more than $20,000 overall with strong local support. "We would like to extend a sincere thank you to our generous partners for their donations to the MPD Plunge Team: Discovery Dental, Aspen Sound, MT Party Bus, Paradise Falls and the Missoula Police Officer’s Association," said the Missoula Police Department.

The department also expressed its appreciation for all the donors who made this possible.
