Missoula police investigate overnight shooting on East Broadway

Missoula, Mont. — Police in Missoula were investigating an overnight shooting on East Broadway after reports of gunfire in the area.

The Missoula Police Department said officers responded just before 1:00 a.m. after getting multiple reports that shots had been heard there.

Police detained a 25-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy during the response.

According to the department, the 25-year-old man told officers he was trying to reach a cellphone in his pocket even though they had told him not to do that.

An officer then used a Taser to stop him, police reported.

Investigators found multiple shell casings in the area and a car that appeared to have been shot at. No injuries were reported.

Both suspects were later released without charges.
