Missoula sets Midtown Commons meetings as land sale heads to review

MISSOULA, Montana — A City of Missoula announcement said the city, the Missoula Redevelopment Agency and Missoula Parks and Recreation prepared documents for the proposed sale of land for the Midtown Commons project to Miramonte Companies, LLC.

The proposal included townhomes, condos, rental apartments and single-family homes. The announcement also listed possible commercial development, a new 1.6-acre public park, connections to the Bitterroot Trail, new streets and sidewalks, street lighting, utilities and landscaping in the right-of-way.

The city said four public bodies were set to review the required purchase and sale agreement and development agreement. Those groups were the MRA Board, the Missoula Parks and Recreation Board, the Land Use and Planning Committee and City Council.

The MRA Board meeting was scheduled for Friday, May 8, 2026, at noon in the Hal Fraser Conference Room at 140 W. Pine St. Members were set to consider tax increment funding for infrastructure and the park and whether to recommend the legal documents to City Council.

The Missoula Parks and Recreation Board meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. in the Headwaters Conference Room at Currents, 600 Cregg Lane. The board was set to consider the Park at Midtown Commons master plan.

The Land Use and Planning Committee meeting was tentatively scheduled for May 13, 2026, in City Council Chambers at 140 W. Pine St. The time had not been set. The committee was expected to consider the purchase and sale agreement and the development agreement.

The City Council meeting was tentatively scheduled for May 18, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in City Council Chambers at 140 W. Pine St. Council members were set to consider the purchase and sale agreement and the development agreement.

The city said specific times and documents would be posted on the City of Missoula website [link] when available. It also said an MRA Board memo with project details would be posted there by noon on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

The announcement said public comments could be submitted online through links on meeting agendas or made in person at each meeting.
