Each year, MSU’s United Methodist Church affiliated student ministry group, Thursday Nights Together, takes a spring break mission trip where students volunteer to help the community where they are serving. The purpose of these mission trips is for students to serve others while maintaining their own Christian values. This year, a group of 13 TNT students traveled to San Francisco, Calif. to focus on combating hunger and homelessness in the Bay area. During the week long trip, students volunteered at several locations including Glide Memorial Church, Project Open Hand, the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, Saint Anne’s: Little Sisters of the Poor and La Casa de las Madres. Students were given the opportunity after working to explore the city and participate in activities and events, including visiting the San Francisco Exploratorium, attending Sunday worship at Glide Memorial Church and visiting the Golden Gate Bridge.
