The Belgrade Police Department will receive $250,000 in federal dollars to purchase two new patrol vehicles.

"The funding is part of more than $1 million awarded to three regional law enforcement agencies to support public safety efforts in our area," reads a Monday statement from the police department. "These vehicles will help ensure our officers have reliable equipment to respond to calls, patrol our community, and continue providing a high level of service to the residents of Belgrade."

Congressman Ryan Zinke stopped by sheriff's office last Friday to announce the award along with local officials.

"We appreciate the support from our federal partners in helping provide resources that strengthen public safety in our community!" reads the police department's statement.
