Procession held Thursday afternoon to honor late Deer Lodge PD assistant chief

Dozens of police vehicles from around the region joined an escort procession Thursday afternoon to honor the late Ronald Slauson, the assistant chief of the Deer Lodge Police Department.

Slauson, 48, died Feb. 17 at his home in Deer Lodge. Slauson's memorial service was Thursday evening. In this photo, the procession leaves Anaconda on Montana Highway 1 before turning left on Montana 48 for the drive to Deer Lodge.

Two Montana Highway Patrol officers established a roadblock east of Montana 48 to allow the procession to proceed without interruption.
