Red Ants Pants Foundation holds statewide scavenger hunt in Montana

Giant red ants are popping up around Montana as part of a statewide scavenger hunt tied to the Red Ants Pants Music Festival in White Sulphur Springs.

Festival organizers said the hand-sewn ants were placed at small businesses in communities including White Sulphur Springs, Winnett, Kalispell and Billings. They also said a special bonus ant was set along a certain Montana river.

People who take photos with two of the nine red banners can enter to win a VIP prize package.

The effort is backed by the Red Ants Pants Foundation. Organizers said the foundation had provided more than $210,000 in grants to projects that enriched rural communities.
